Laurie’s 9:09 in Wakefield, MA

October 23, 2013

We’re all pretty proud of one of our newest projects, a small restaurant in Wakefield, MA called Laurie’s 9:09. We were hired for a complete rebrand and re-concept of the restaurant. Originally set up as a high-end steakhouse and raw bar, the physical space (located right on the train tracks in Wakefield Center) didn’t embrace this concept. The food was great and Laurie Rizzo (Chef/Owner) was an amazing soul, but it boiled down to understanding how to showcase her passion and use the space she had for her restaurant in a way that would be a logical fit and bring in customers!

Over the last three months team IUC worked with Laurie to completely rebrand and re-concept the restaurant. Our team helped the restaurant rewrite the menu, create a new logo and branded materials, we launched a new website and we even helped with plating dishes, presentations and interior design aspects!

The new “Gastro-Diner” concept presents Laurie’s fresh and simple food in a straight forward manner featuring dishes like: Fresh Fish Tacos, Braised Pork Belly Nachos, various artisan flat breads and amazing burgers, steaks and fresh local salads and homemade soups. Laurie’s also has live music, paint nights and trivia nights during the week.

The restaurant now hums and buzzes with activity. Locals gather several times a week to meet and grab a drink, have dinner, or grab takeout. More and more people from surrounding towns are finding there way to this unique, casual and fun restaurant that now lives comfortably right on the train tracks. Check it out!
